Although aging is a natural process of life, we are constantly bombarded with commercials that promote products to eliminate the signs of aging and make us feel sad about getting older. I celebrate my age (over 60). I do not want to fill in my laugh lines or get rid of all the facial imperfections that tell my story. I just want healthy looking skin.
Facial skin, one of the most sensitive areas of our body, is a bit different from the rest of your skin. It is rich in sebaceous glands that secrete sebum, the natural lubricating oil of your skin, which can trap dead skin cells and dirt causing skin blemishes. The cells making up the epidermis of the face are finer and rich in pores meaning less of a barrier to environmental chemicals. Facial skin is also more prone to water loss.
What does this mean for you? Using a soap that will gently cleanse away dirt without washing away all of the precious natural oils, gently exfoliating to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, moisturizing, and choosing wholesome natural products to prevent absorption of or irritation from harmful chemicals are extremely important.
Although each of us have a unique skin type, we can all benefit from the right type of facial moisturizer. Folks with dry skin need a daily dose of a rich natural moisturizer to help prevent dry, itchy skin that has that tight feeling.
Folks with oily skin may choose to use moisturizers less often, but they need it just as much as those with dry skin. Products made for oily or acne-prone skin are often very drying which causes the skin to produce more oil to balance the dryness. A regular moisturizing routine will help keep skin oil production in balance.
Folks with sensitive skin need a good natural moisturizer to help calm redness or flare-ups from skin problems like eczema. Beware of moisturizers that contain synthetic fragrances, stabilizers or preservatives, these chemical can actually exacerbate irritated skin conditions.

- Complexion Soaps
All of our soaps are naturally moisturizing. So what makes a complexion soap? Complexion soaps are superfatted a bit more than body soaps to provide extra moisturization. They are unscented or very lightly scented with pure essential oils known to be good for facial skin. The soaps are formulated with facial clays, extra butters and skin moisturizing and nourishing ingredients.

- Whipped Squalane Face Eye Mousse
Our lightest whipped butter, Shea Olein and Olive Squalane whipped to create a silky delicate cream. One of the first areas to show signs of aging is the thin skin surrounding the eyes. This delicate skin, with fewer sebaceous glands, and less collagen and elastin than skin elsewhere on your face, needs special moisturizing. Squalane and Shea Olein promote cell growth and help with dry skin and skin irritations.
- Facial Oils
Facial oils are an easy way to feed your skin. We use nourishing oils such as jojoba, squalane and infused sunflower; healing oils like seabuckthorn, argan and tamanu; and potent seed oils such as Pomegranate, Rosehips, Sesame and Pumpkin to help replenish the skin's own natural oil and promote a healthy complexion. - Whipped Cocoa Butter
As a facial cream, cocoa butter is only recommended for those with extremely dry skin. Cocoa butter is an excellent all over the body moisturizer as it acts as an emollient (softening and soothing to the skin) that adds a protective layer that locks in natural moisture. It soothes and softens very dry, itchy skin.
