Call me prejudice, but no one makes whipped butters as luxurious as Chagrin Valley. The light, fluffy butter goes on smoothly and absorbs into your skin, leaving it soft and silky.
The ultimate all natural moisturizing treat for your skin, our light and fluffy Whipped Shea Body Butter is made using the highest quality, naturally extracted, unrefined, certified organic shea butter available to provide you with the ultimate in skin conditioning. We do not use refined Shea Butter because the refining process strips the Shea of its many healing qualities. Our shea butter is virgin, unrefined and certified organic.

Our Whipped Shea Butters begins with the finest unrefined organic African Shea butter. Our Whipped Cocoa Butter begins with unrefined organic cocoa butter. These butters are then whipped for hours into a luxurious cream with a light, silky smooth texture that melts into your skin, creating an intensive moisturizing treat to pamper the body’s largest organ – your skin.
These rich and nourishing organic creams are very concentrated, so a little goes a long way.
- Apply less than you think you need and you will be surprised at how far a little dab will go.
- It may feel a bit greasy at first, but it melts on contact with your skin and is easily absorbed leaving your skin feeling ultra soft and supple.
- Apply to your entire body as needed throughout the day.
- They are especially effective if used when your skin is still warm and damp after bathing or showering.
Our Whipped Shea Body Butter is the perfect natural creamy treat for all your dry skin places - face, hands, feet, cuticles, lips, legs, elbows, stretch marks--any part that needs a bit of TLC. It is great for sun exposed skin in the summer and a necessity in winter since it provides the moisture that the winter wind and indoor heating take away.
Our Whipped Butters are preservative free! They do NOT contain petroleum based chemicals (Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Paraffin), chemical emulsifiers (DEA, MEA, TEA), chemical preservatives (Parabens, Urea), Propylene Glycol, artificial colors, stabilizers, or synthetic fragrances.
- We manufacture all of our own products in small batches to ensure freshness, consistency and perfection.
- Because we have chosen not to include harmful chemical preservatives in our Whipped Butters,
they have a shelf life of approximately four to six months after opening.
- A little goes a long way-- so please do NOT stock up!
- Store away from heat
- Keep the jar lid tightly sealed
To have your preservative free whipped moisturizers last as long as possible, we highly recommend using an applicator (like a small plastic or metal spoon or a wooden stick). See our Bamboo Applicators
Each time you place your warm fingers into the jar, you melt some of the butter and over a period of time this will change the whipped consistency of the butter.
Because our fingers can be a host to bacteria and other contaminants try to avoid dipping fingers into jars. Instead, use a clean spoon, toothpick, popsicle stick or other utensil to obtain the amount that you wish to use--especially if you are buying the larger sizes to use over a long period of time.
A common question is, "Should I refrigerate my moisturizers?"
We don't necessarily recommend that you refrigerate your moisturizers, especially the whipped butters. Refrigerating whipped products (like our Whipped Shea, Squalane face Mousse, Butter Cream Wash, etc.) may alter the consistency. As they become harder over time, they may become 'crumbly' and will not spread as easily or melt as well at the skin's temperature.
If you live in a warm, humid climate, make sure to keep your whipped butter in a cool, dry place. Do not leave this product in a hot environment, it will melt. Keep the butters away from direct sunlight, heaters, and the inside of your vehicle during warm and sunny weather.
Our whipped butter is a pure and delicate product. We do not use emulsifiers or stabilizers. If it gets too soft or melts, stir it up and place it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. The whipped consistency will change, but it will not affect the quality of the product.
Warm Weather Shipping
Our whipped butters have a low melting point. If shipped during warm weather, the product may melt. If melting at any time occurs, simply place the butter in a cool place and it will harden up. The melting will not affect the quality of the butter as a great moisturizer, but the whipped consistency will change.
Whipping adds tiny air bubbles that increase the size, lighten the density and changes the texture, making the butter light and fluffy. If the product melts, the air bubbles are collapsed, so the volume is decreased. So although the jar was filled with whipped cocoa butter, if the whipped butter melts, there will be less volume in the container.
Commercial companies add synthetic stabilizers to creams which helps them stay creamy even with temperature changes. We do not use synthetic stabilizers.

SHEA BUTTER ALLERGY ALERT:
Shea butter contains natural latex. Although it is not exactly the same as the sap-like latex extract from the Rubber Tree (Hevea brasiliensis), it is very similar in chemical composition. Although the quantities of latex in shea butter are small, this natural latex is responsible for the sealing property that shea butter has that may aid in protecting your skin and preventing sun allergies.
Persons suffering from latex allergies should do an Allergy Patch Test before using any shea butter product. Many people with latex allergies are not affected by shea butter, but some are, so it is better to be safe than sorry!
