Clove Bud Essential Oil

Clove Bud, Syzgium aromaticum, with its warming qualities, eases arthritis, rheumatism and muscle aches. Extracted from clove buds, this oil offers antiseptic and pain-relieving benefits. It is rich in eugenol which is best known for its use in dentistry. For toothache relief, add a few drops to a cotton swab and apply to the gums and affected tooth. The oil is also used to soothe the condition known as "dry socket," a postoperative complication of tooth extraction, by numbing the affected area and helping to preventing any further irritation.

Aromatherapy Properties:  researchers found that sniffing the spicy aroma reduces drowsiness, anxiety, irritability and headaches, assists memory recall, adds clarity to the mind and increases circulation. Clove bud essential oil aromatherapy should not be used when pregnant.
