Cypress Essential Oil

Cypress, Cupressus sempervirens, an essential oil steam distilled from the twigs, stems, and leaves of the cypress tree, has a smoky woody fragrance that refreshes, restores and tones. Cypress oil has antiseptic, astringent, and toning properties that help balance skin oil production which may be helpful for skin prone to acne and blemishes. Its ability to enhance circulation can help brighten dull complexions.

Cypress essential oil improves circulation and is reputed to exhibit antispasmodic qualities. As a massage oil, it relaxes and soothes the tired body, making it helpful for problems associated with spasms, such as muscle cramps, aches and pains, and possibly even restless legs.

Some consider cypress to be a good natural deodorant as well as an antiperspirant for sweaty feet.

In hair care, cypress oil is used to reduce oiliness in the scalp and is good for dandruff. Often included in regimens for treating hair loss since it helps increase circulation to the follicles.

Aromatherapy Properties: The fresh warm deep, earthy, woody, and smoky scent of cypress essential oil can be described as both calming and invigorating. It induces a calming, relaxing, and sedative effect on both the mind and body by relieving nervous stress and anxiety. It also stimulates happy feelings which can help improve focus when you feel down.
