Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus essential oil, Eucalyptus globulus, often a key ingredient in vapor rubs, is a wonderful oil that has been used in healing for centuries. It has antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal components and a long history of use to help with upper respiratory conditions like colds, influenza, rhinitis, and sinusitis. The oil is steam distilled from fresh or partially dried Eucalyptus leaves.

There are over 700 known species of eucalyptus. Eucalyptus globulus is one of the most commonly distilled species for aromatherapy and personal care products. Eucalyptus radiata, another common species used for essential oils, has a mellower aroma.

A natural deodorant, eucalyptus is also used for many ailments, such as bronchitis, coughs, fevers, headaches, sinus congestion, and sore throats. Eucalyptus Oil is a popular ingredient in balms, salves, and massage blends for its ability to help ease arthritis symptoms and everyday muscle aches.

Eucalyptus oil has been shown to boost ceramide production, a fatty acid found in the epidermis that is responsible for maintaining the skin’s barrier and retaining its moisture. There is anecdotal evidence to suggest that its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties can decrease acne-causing bacteria to help to reduce the frequency of outbreaks and soothe irritated skin conditions.

In hair care products, eucalyptus refreshes and stimulates the scalp, promotes increased blood circulation, stimulates growth, helps with dandruff, and promotes a healthy scalp.

Aromatherapy Properties:  The fresh, camphoraceous scent and rich deep aroma of eucalyptus awakens the senses, promotes mental clarity, helps renew a tired and sagging spirit, decreases exhaustion and mental fatigue, rejuvenates the spirit, boosts mental clarity, and helps combat brain fog. It also promotes the relaxation of tense facial muscles which may help ease headaches.

It can also be effective in the treatment of stress and emotional imbalance because it has a soothing and calming effect on the whole body. Eucalyptus can help ease stuffiness from colds or allergies. Diffusing eucalyptus helps to purify the air and promote deep breathing.
