Organic Pine Needle Essential Oil
Pine Needle, Pinus sylvestris, steam distilled from the sweet, evergreen scented needles, is believed to promote a healthy immune system and was used by ancient Romans and Greeks to treat respiratory problems and muscular aches.
Pine oil is a rubefacient, meaning that it increases blood flow when rubbed on the skin. When added to a carrier oil and massaged into the skin, pine oil promotes circulation, helps soothe inflammation, relieves muscle fatigue, soothes sore muscles, and helps ease inflamed joints. Pine essential oil also helps soothe itchy skin, which may be helpful for eczema or other skin irritations.
A true disinfectant, Pine oil may be helpful for fighting infections. Adding pine oil to a facial steam may help ease the symptoms of bronchitis, coughs, and sinus problems.
In hair care, Pine Essential Oil is reputed to cleanse, enhance the hair’s natural smoothness and shine, contribute moisture, and protect against dandruff as well as lice.
Aromatherapy Properties: Pine essential oil has a strong, crisp, clean, fresh, resinous aroma that stimulates, energizes, invigorates, and refreshes. It has warm revitalizing properties that promote feelings of energy and well-being--refreshing to a tired mind. It can help improve mood, clear the mind of stress, help eliminate fatigue, enhance concentration, and promote a positive outlook. Used in a diffuser, pine oil can help clear and freshen the air.
Lemongrass essential oil, Cymbopogon flexuosus, has a wonderful, uplifting lemony scent that is steam distilled from a grass harvested in Guatemala. Lemongrass has long been used in Eastern medicine to treat muscular pain and stiffness. Its astringent properties make it useful in the treatment of acne, blemishes, and other skin inflammations. Lemongrass essential oil is particularly high in anti-bacterial, antiseptic, healing and soothing properties. Skin-soothing properties help cleanse your skin without the drying that overexcites the oil glands.
In hair care, lemongrass oil increases fullness and body and adds luster to dull hair. It may also be an effective treatment to combat hair loss and oily hair and scalp conditions. Some herbalists believe that lemongrass oil can strengthen the hair follicles, another benefit for those suffering from thinning or weak hair.
Aromatherapy Properties: There has been recent research in India that shows that lemongrass acts as a sedative on the central nervous system which helps relieve tension and promotes the sensation of being calm. The scent of Lemongrass is soothing, stimulating, and refreshing. Aromatherapists value lemongrass for its ability to both calm and revitalize, to relieve tension, invigorate, and inspire.
