Lime Peel
For Texture & Freshness
We use organic Lime Peel in our seasonal springtime lime soap for its natural texture, gentle exfoliation, and fresh, visual character. Finely ground lime peel creates small flecks throughout the bar, adding a mild, plant-based exfoliating action — especially appreciated by those with oily or problem-prone skin.
Beyond texture, lime peel contributes a soft yellow-green hue that reflects the ingredient itself. Fully incorporated during curing, the peel becomes a stable part of the bar and does not spoil or require preservatives.
A Note on Scent & Lime Essential Oil
Our Springtime Lime Seasonal Soap is scented with organic lime essential oil.
Citrus essential oils like lime are considered “top note” oils, meaning they are the first aromas you notice in a scent blend. They are bright, fresh, and uplifting — but also highly volatile, which means they evaporate quickly. This is why citrus scents are known to fade more easily in cold-process soap.
The lime peel adds natural plant solids to the bar, which gives the scent something to "hold on to," to help reduce the rate at which citrus aroma dissipates during curing.
What Lime Peel Contributes to Natural Soap
- Gentle Exfoliation: Adds light texture that helps lift away surface buildup without harsh scrubbing.
- Fresh, Clean Skin Feel: Supports a clean, refreshed feel — especially welcome for oily or warmer-weather skin.
- Natural Appearance: Adds subtle flecks and a soft yellow-green tone derived directly from the peel.
- Aromatic Support: Helps support the longevity of lime essential oil’s bright, fleeting top note.
Lime peel is a small addition, but it plays a meaningful role in how this seasonal soap looks, feels, and smells.
