Beeswax
Nature’s Moisture Lock for Skin & Hair
Beeswax, Cera alba, is produced by the (female) worker honeybees. The bees mold the wax into six-sided cells, which are filled with honey and then capped with more wax.
When the honey is harvested, the wax cappings that seal each cell are carefully removed, filtered, and refined for use. The exact composition of beeswax varies depending on the species of bee and the flowers they visit, giving each batch its own subtle aroma and hue.
Our unrefined, filtered beeswax may retain traces of honey and propolis, ranges in color from pale yellow to rich golden brown, and carries the naturally sweet scent of honey.
Used for centuries as a natural moisturizer and protectant, beeswax forms a light, breathable barrier on the skin that helps lock in hydration and seal in nourishing oils and butters—without clogging pores.
Beeswax, an awesome addition to natural lip balms, salves, and balms, has a long history in natural skincare due to its emollient and conditioning properties. It helps soften rough, dry skin and provides a protective layer against environmental elements like wind and cold. While research is ongoing, beeswax is believed to have mild anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects that can support skin comfort and balance.
In hair care, beeswax helps add moisture, softness, and natural shine. It can smooth the hair shaft, tame flyaways, and enhance manageability, making it a valuable ingredient in natural pomades, balms, and conditioning products.
