Organic Arrowroot Powder

Organic Arrowroot Powder

Arrowroot Powder, Maranta arundinacea, is an all-natural silky white powder produced by grinding up the dried rhizomes (underground stems) of the tropical Arrowroot plant. It is most often used in cooking as a replacement for cornstarch in thickening puddings and sauces.

Arrowroot adds a luxurious silky feel to body powder or dry shampoo where it absorbs sweat and skin or scalp oils and can act as a gentle natural deodorant/antiperspirant due to its absorbing properties.

Used in natural body creams, arrowroot adds a silky texture and helps decrease the oily feeling of natural plant oils and butters.

Arrowroot contains many beneficial minerals and vitamins such as zinc, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B6. It helps calm skin irritations including rashes and acne.  It is good for all skin types and is particularly gentle on sensitive skin, making it ideal for baby care products.

A great substitute for cornstarch for those with corn allergies, arrowroot powder, is also a natural replacement for talc.
