Evening Primrose Oil
The Night Bloom for Skin & Hair

Evening Primrose Oil, Oenothera biennis, is a lightweight, golden oil expeller pressed from the seeds of the Evening Primrose Flower, a small yellow blossom that opens at sunset.

Native to the Americas, it has been used in traditional and folk medicine for centuries. Native Americans applied poultices from plant leaves for bruises and wounds and used its stem and leaf juices as topical remedies for skin irritation.

Rich in essential fatty acids—especially gamma-linolenic acid (GLA)—Evening Primrose Oil helps replenish and support the skin’s moisture balance. Its soothing, emollient properties make it ideal for dry, mature, or sensitive skin. The oil helps maintain skin elasticity and comfort, while its light texture absorbs easily without greasiness.

Evening Primrose Oil is often used to calm and care for irritated or reactive skin, including conditions like eczema or chapped areas. Its combination of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds promotes a healthy, hydrated complexion and supports the skin’s natural barrier function.

In hair care, Evening Primrose Oil nourishes the scalp and strengthens strands. Its fatty acids help ease dryness, soothe irritation, and reduce breakage, while antioxidants protect against environmental stressors. The result is softer, more manageable hair and a balanced, healthy scalp.

We use virgin USDA Certified Organic evening primrose oil cold cold-pressed from the seeds of the Oenothera biennis plant. This unrefined oil has not been bleached or deodorized and retains its natural color, characteristic aroma, and nutritional benefits.
