Organic Sunflower Oil

Sunflower Seed Oil
A Light, Powerful Moisturizer for Skin & Hair

Sunflower Seed Oil, Helianthus annuus, is a beautifully light, non-comedogenic oil expeller-pressed from sunflower seeds. Easily absorbed and suitable for all skin types—from dry to oily to acne-prone—it is one of the most versatile and reliable oils in natural skincare.

Though it may seem simple or familiar, sunflower oil is one of the most underrated powerhouses in plant-based skin care. Its strength lies in its unique composition—especially its exceptional concentration of linoleic acid, an essential omega-6 fatty acid.

While the grocery-store versions of sunflower oil vary, our organic sunflower oil is the linoleic-rich type, containing 70–80% linoleic acid—far higher than many other plant oils. This fatty acid is key to maintaining moisture, supporting a healthy skin barrier, and helping prevent dryness. Its lightweight structure allows it to penetrate easily, delivering nutrients without clogging pores.

Sunflower oil is also naturally rich in vitamin E, a skin-loving antioxidant that helps soothe inflammation, reduce redness, and support smoother, calmer, more comfortable skin. This combination of linoleic acid + vitamin E makes sunflower seed oil especially helpful for sensitive or reactive skin.

The National Eczema Association recommends sunflower oil to help ease eczema, and oils high in linoleic acid are also well suited for acne-prone skin, helping balance moisture without heaviness.
