Organic Coffee Beans (Fair Trade)

Organic Coffee is jam-packed with skin-friendly ingredients like antioxidants, Vitamin E, and other essential nutrients that help soothe and moisturize skin.

Brewed coffee contains caffeine which offers fabulous toning, firming, and cellulite-fighting properties when applied topically. The topical application of caffeine can help remove excess water from the tissues which firms and tones the skin to minimize dimpling and make the skin appear smoother temporarily. Caffeine is also a vasoconstrictor, and its topical application may help reduce swelling and inflammation and the appearance of under-eye puffiness and dark circles if it is caused by excess fluid in the tissues. The natural stimulant properties of caffeine can help promote a healthy skin tone.

Does infused Coffee Oil contain caffeine? We know that caffeine is soluble in water, however, there is conflicting information as to whether caffeine is soluble in oil. So, the question is whether or not caffeine provides the topical benefits when it is infused into oil. We do know that caffeine easily crosses the lipid blood-brain barrier to stimulate the brain directly. (Anyone who has had too much caffeine can attest to that.) Though the exact reason for the ease with which caffeine enters the brain is not yet clear, one possible answer is that Caffeine is both water and fat-soluble. In that case infused oil may have some of the topical benefits of caffeine.

In hair care, brunettes have been pouring freshly brewed coffee on their hair for centuries to help transform flat brown tones into shiny, rich colors. The natural oil from the coffee beans adds luster to dry hair and stimulates the scalp to boost blood flow and thus promote hair growth.

Aroma: While a cup of Coffee is renowned for its stimulating effects inside the body, the rich aroma of coffee has been shown to soothe anxiety and feelings of depression in some people.

We use Organic Coffee in our products in three ways.

Ground Coffee or Espresso Beans

The ground beans provide pumice-like exfoliation, removing dead skin cells, and firming and toning the skin. They are also used in soaps and scrubs to absorb odors from the skin. Products like our Coffee & Clove Soap, Mocha Java Body Scrub, and Cocoa & Espresso Face Mask contain ground coffee beans.

Coffee Beans Infused in Oil

Coffee is high in antioxidants, like vitamin E, which are oil soluble. Thus coffee-infused oil has skin benefits as well as the delicious aroma of coffee. When used topically coffee oil can tighten and firm the skin. Our Mocha Java Lip Balm contains coffee bean infused oil.

Brewed Coffee

We make a very strong brewed coffee and use it in our soaps and shampoos. It also contains a well-known cellulite fighter - Caffeine! Caffeine helps temporarily plump and smooth the skin. Coffee also helps absorb odors from the skin and scalp. Our Coffee & Clove Soap and Cafe Moreno Shampoo Bar contain freshly brewed coffee.
