Product Overview
Squalane Face & Eye Mousse is created by gently whipping Shea Olein, Olive Squalane, and Olive Butter into an airy, silky mousse that melts effortlessly into the skin.
The delicate skin around the eyes is often one of the first areas to show visible signs of aging. With fewer sebaceous (oil) glands than other areas of the face, this skin benefits from lightweight barrier support to help reduce moisture loss and maintain comfort. Human skin naturally produces squalene, a key component of healthy skin surface oils—but production declines with age.
This oil-based cream is designed to soften and condition the skin, support moisture retention, and leave the eye and facial area feeling smooth, comfortable, and supple.
Suitable for all skin types and all ages*
Why These Ingredients Matter
Shea Olein
True liquid shea butter—not solvent-extracted—Shea Olein is naturally rich in linoleic acid. It absorbs quickly, helps soften skin, and supports the skin’s natural moisture barrier, making it especially well-suited for delicate facial skin.
Olive Squalane
Squalane closely mimics one of the skin’s natural lipids, allowing it to spread easily and improve skin softness while helping reduce moisture loss. Its lightweight, non-greasy feel makes it ideal for the eye area and for maturing skin.
Olive Butter
Olive Butter offers the comfort of a butter with a lighter, silkier texture. It melts easily into the skin, helping improve softness and providing concentrated moisture support.
Our Olive Butter starts with cold-pressed olive oil, blended with non-GMO hydrogenated soybean oil for a smooth, creamy consistency, ideal for facial use.

- soften and condition the skin
- supports skin that struggles to hold onto moisture
- reduce the feeling of dryness
- improve skin comfort and suppleness
- create a smooth base for makeup
*This was the only face cream my mom used until she passed away at 102. My 87-year-old sister-in-law says, “It keeps my skin looking young.” I use it at 71, my friend at 50, my daughter at 38, and my niece at 25.

How To Use
- Wash your face: Always wash your face before using a facial cream. When you clean your face you wash away makeup, sweat, dirt, debris, and dead skin cells that may have accumulated during the day or even while you were sleeping. This will allow the cream to better absorb into the skin.
- After your gentle warm wash, gently pat your skin rather than rubbing it dry with a towel. Patting your face dry is gentler and better for delicate facial skin.
- Apply to damp skin: Always apply face cream to warm and damp (not wet) skin. Creams are better able to lock in moisture when applied after a warm wash to moist skin.
- Use a small amount: This rich cream is very concentrated. A little goes a very long way. Using more does not mean greater benefits. Your face should be able to absorb the cream and not feel sticky. Also too much cream require more rubbing time on delicate facial skin.
- Dab it on: Instead of taking a finger full and spreading the cream all over your face, apply small spots and then smooth it out using small, concentric circles. This gentle massaging action also helps stimulate circulation.
- Eye Cream: Place a few dabs around the eye and allow it to melt a bit. Using very gentle pressure massage into the skin. Never tug or pull this delicate skin! For best results apply to the eye area every morning and evening.*
- Face Cream: Apply small dots all over your face. This way you will be able to apply the cream evenly on every part of your face. Gently massage up and out to give your face a lift.
- Now give your skin a few minutes to absorb the facial moisturizer and work its magic.
Our whipped butters are a preservative-free product, always use clean, dry hands to remove butter from the jar. Try a bamboo spoon to scoop out our natural butters.
*Tip 1: Some experts believe when applying cream beneath your eyes, you should use your ring finger. The explanation is that since your ring fingers are the weakest fingers of your hands, they will provide a more gentle massage and less irritation to the sensitive skin under the eye.
*Tip 2: Do you like a powdered blush but it does last long? AAfter moisturizing your clean face with a bit of squalane, apply your blush as usual. Add a tiny, tiny dot of whipped squalane on each cheek bone. Then use your fingers to blend the blush across your cheeks. You use less blush, it blends better, and stays on longer.
If you have very sensitive skin or are simply trying a new face cream, we recommend doing a "little facial patch test" to be sure that your delicate facial skin does not react poorly, before applying it to your entire face. Simply dab a small amount on your cheek in the evening. If you wake up without irritation you are probably good to go. If you do not want to try the test on your face, do a regular patch test.
For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Best if used within 6 months of opening.

Reviews
"it smells amazing, goes on and leaves a really good feel to my skin. and thank you so much for the free soap bar 💕"
Great product
"Very rich but needs a little work absorbing fully. However the effects are very dramatic and I've already noticed the skin around my eyes appears softer and less crepe like, after just 10 days of use."
Around the eyes
"This is my moisturizer for the sensitive skin around my eyes. I will also use it on the rest of my face depending on how much moisture I want. I have gotten others hooked on it because I love to talk about how good it feels and how well it works!"
Lovely texture
"My dry skin loves an oil-based cream, and it’s such a unique fluffy texture. It does leave a little sheen /oily finish, but in a nice dewy way, and I really use it at night. Sometimes if I think I want something more akin to the water-based creams I’m used to, I’ll layer it over damp skin or a moistuzinf serum. So far it hasn’t broken me out and has done well in calming down some irritation and spots I had. Helps my skin look more refreshed even though trust me I am not!"
I love the Face and
"I love the Face and Eye Cream, it is light and leaves my face so moisturized."
Thank you!
"I love this it’s very lightly scented with lavender has light and fluffy texture isn’t greasy leaves my skin soft and my order came neatly and securely packaged thank you so much 🩷"
Dewey
"I love the texture of the cream and the dewey sheen it gives my face?"
I was a bit cautious
"I was a bit cautious about purchasing this product simply because I thought it would be greasy. So very pleasantly surprise after the first use. This product smoothes right into the skin, smells sooo incredibly good, and leaves a radiant glow. I am in love!!!"
Best product facial cream ever!
"There’s something so great about this moisturizer. It’s not greasy but absorbs so well. I’ve mentioned it and gifted it to a few friends and they’ve gotten hooked on it too. It also seems to work with whatever skin type. I run a little oily so I thought surely this would be too much for my skin in the summer but nope. Just calm smooth skin. I tend to use it everywhere with little dots and a few dabs is really all it needs. There’s no guesswork here on trying to figure out if your skin would respond to this. Unless you’re allergic to one of the ingredients - it’s a guaranteed win!"
Q&A
- Why have you changed the ingredients of such a wonderful product? Why have you added jojoba and shea to an olive-based product? This smells amd feels totally different - plus the fact that I can't use jojoba... so sad!
- Hi There, Thanks so much for reaching out! We have not actually changed the ingredients in the whipped squalane face & eye cream! It is the same formula that we have been using for a decade. Let us know if you have any other questions and have a great day! -Christina, Chagrin Valley
- This cream looks lovely, but I can't use it. Would you consider making a version of this face lotion without lavender essential oil? Lavender, tea tree and jasmine essential oils mimic estrogen, and I medically must avoid as estrogen feeds uterine fibroids.
- Hi Ella, Thanks so much for reaching out! We only use a small amount of lavender in this product to help neutralize the scent of the natural squalane which can be quite strong. While we don't have plans to make it without the lavender at this time, I can pass your request along to our team here! We do have unscented facial oils that are great moisturizers! I hope this helps a bit. Please let me know if you have any other questions and have a great day! -Christina, Chagrin Valley
- Hello! Is this mostly an eye cream, or can it be used as an overall facial moisturizer? Would it replace my normal moisturizer? Thank you!
- Hi Becky, Thanks so much for reaching out! The Whipped Squalane Face & Eye Cream can be used as an all over facial moisturizer! Most customers use it on its own but others will mix it with facial oils or serums to fit their skins needs. You can do whatever you find works best for your skin! I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and have a great day! -Christina, Chagrin Valley
- Have you ever thought of making a fragrance free version of your super basic products (like face moisturizer etc)? Unless lavender is being used as a natural preservative I'd prefer not to have it in my face cream.
- Hi Jenna, Thanks so much for reaching out! We use only a small amount of lavender essential oil in the Whipped Squalane Face & Eye Cream to neutralize the scent of the squalane which can be a bit strong. In my opinion, the product does not smell like lavender and I use it every day! I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns and have a great day! -Christina, Chagrin Valley
- How does this do under foundation? Thanks!
- Hi Karen, Thanks for reaching out! Our whipped squalane does well under make up and helps to keep skin moisturized throughout the day. When applying make up over top, I would recommend using a slightly smaller amount than usual. I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns and have a great day! -Christina, Chagrin Valley
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Squalane?
What is Squalane?
Squalane is a lightweight oil used in skincare that is derived from squalene, a lipid naturally produced by the sebaceous glands in our skin.
Squalene is an important component of the skin’s natural surface oils and plays a role in helping keep skin feeling soft and moisturized, but it decreases as we age.
The squalane used in our formulations is derived from olives, a plant-based source that provides a stable and sustainable alternative to the squalene naturally found in skin.
Because natural squalene is highly unstable and easily oxidizes when exposed to air, it is converted into squalane, a more stable form that maintains many of the same skin-conditioning properties.
This stability makes squalane especially well-suited for use in skincare products.
Why Squalane Is Valued in Skincare
Squalane is commonly found in facial oils, serums, moisturizers, and balms. Its lightweight texture blends well with other nourishing plant oils and helps create formulations that deliver moisture while maintaining a smooth, non-greasy feel.
Gentle enough for daily use, squalane is valued for its ability to help maintain the skin’s natural moisture balance while contributing to skin that feels soft, smooth, and well-conditioned.

What If My Natural Skincare Product Melts in Warm Weather?
Why Do Some Products Melt in Warm Weather?
We do not use synthetic stabilizers or waxes, so our delicate natural products packaged in glass jars and metal tins are sensitive to temperature changes.
While shipping during warm weather seasons presents a real challenge to our natural skin care company, we accept the challenge in order to maintain our standard of natural and nourishing skin care. We hope you agree.
During warm weather, products may soften or even melt as they sit in warm mail trucks, mailboxes, or on front porches.
The quality and healing properties of our products are not affected by melting.
On very sunny or warm days, BEFORE opening the jars or tins, place the items in your refrigerator for a few hours to allow them to harden, just in case they have melted in transit. If you open items, especially those in tins, to check if melting has occurred, they may spill and make a mess!
What To Do About Melting
Cream Deodorants
If you think that your balm-like deodorant is melted or runny, BEFORE opening the jar, pop it in the freezer for 10 - 15 minutes. As it begins to harden give it a stir (so that the solids do not sink to the bottom) and place it back in the freezer until firm!
Sometimes a cream deodorant can melt during warm transit and then slowly re-solidify before you receive it. This melting and slow cooling can result in a grainy feeling. If your deodorant feels grainy, simply melt it, mix thoroughly, and place it in the refrigerator until solid.
Since the stick deodorant are made with more beeswax, they are less sensitive to an increase in outside temperature.
Whipped Body Butters
Place a melted body butter in the refrigerator until firm.
Our hand-whipped process adds tiny air bubbles that increase the volume, just like whipping cream. If a whipped product melts, the air bubbles collapse and the volume is decreased.
So, although the jar was filled to the top initially, there will be less volume in the container (since it has deflated) and the container may actually look half full.
After cooling a melted Whipped Butter will be the consistency of our body balm and is still a great moisturizer.
Sugar Scrubs
If a Sugar Scrub melts, the oil may separate out a bit. Give it a good mix and place it in the refrigerator for about 10 to 15 minutes. As it begins to harden up give it another stir to disperse the sugars and place it back in the refrigerator. Once it's solidified and mixed it will be great to use! Again because it is a whipped product, the container may have less volume when the whipped butters melt.
