Soothing Facial Tea
"I’ve had a great experience with this steam. If you like a mini spa experience you can do at home like me, then it’s worth a try. I haven’t used this regularly enough to notice major skin changes."
A clarifying facial steam and toner blend crafted with traditionally purifying botanicals to help the skin feel balanced, refreshed, and clearer-looking — ideal for complexions that need a gentle reset.
Botanical Care for Congested, Problem-Prone Skin
Skin that produces excess oil can sometimes lead to clogged pores and a complexion that feels congested or out of balance. Harsh cleansers or alcohol-heavy toners may temporarily dry the skin, but they can also leave it feeling irritated and uncomfortable.
This clarifying botanical blend is crafted with organic herbs traditionally used to help refresh and clarify problem-prone skin and for complexions in need of a gentle reset. Made with herbs traditionally used in skincare for their purifying, toning, and complexion‑supporting qualities, it transforms warm water into an aromatic steam or a fresh, plant‑infused toner that leaves the skin feeling clean, balanced, and naturally refreshed.
When used as a steam or botanical toner, the warm infusion helps soften buildup and loosen surface impurities, leaving skin feeling cleaner, calmer, and more balanced.
While steaming alone won’t clear blemishes, many people find the comforting warmth and botanical vapors help refresh skin and support a clearer-looking complexion over time.
Organic thyme, neem leaf, lemongrass, and Oregon grape root form the core of the blend, offering a bright, herbaceous profile that feels deeply cleansing and clarifying. Licorice root, self-heal, and green tea add a soothing, harmonizing layer, helping the infusion feel balanced rather than harsh. Burdock root, dandelion, and elder flowers round out the formula with their long‑respected roles in traditional herbal skincare, contributing to a sense of gentle purification and renewal.
Together, these herbs help gently cleanse and refresh skin while supporting a more comfortable, balanced complexion, making the blend especially welcome for oily, problem, or congestion-prone skin.
When prepared as a facial steam, the warm vapor helps soften the skin and melt surface oils, allowing the botanicals’ natural aromatics to rise with the steam and settle gently onto the complexion. This creates a refreshing, clarifying experience that feels especially welcome when your skin needs a deeper sense of renewal.
When cooled and used as a toner, the infusion feels clean, light, and balancing — especially suited for skin that tends toward oiliness, congestion, or general unevenness.
This blend is not intended to treat or cure any condition — it’s simply a botanical way to support clearer‑looking skin and bring a sense of purity and renewal to your daily ritual.
Each package contains approximately 1 cup of herbal blend, enough for at least 4 facial steams or multiple toner preparations.
A reusable cotton muslin bag is included for easy preparation.
Place herbs in the included muslin bag, pour boiling water over them in a heatproof bowl, and allow to steep. Sit comfortably with your face about 12 inches above the bowl and drape a towel over your head to capture the steam. Steam gently for 5–10 minutes, taking breaks as needed. Rinse with cool water afterward and follow with moisturizer.
Steep herbs in boiling water, allow the infusion to cool, and apply to clean skin using cotton or by spritzing from a spray bottle. No rinsing is needed. Extra toner can be refrigerated and used within about a week.
Our herbal facial teas work beautifully with water alone or can be combined with simple additions like honey or apple cider vinegar, ingredients often already found in your kitchen.

Although many people benefit from natural herbal facial steams, they are not appropriate for everyone.
Steam facials should not be used for those with cystic acne or rosacea and heat and sweating can often irritate eczema.
For folks who have extremely sensitive, damaged skin or who are prone to developing tiny broken veins or capillaries, herbal steams can be irritating and should be avoided unless suggested by a health-care provider.
People with health conditions such as asthma or heart trouble should consult their physician before doing facial steams. If you have sensitive or allergy-prone skin, you should always do a skin patch test before using any new herbal product.
Just like you should not sit too long in a steam room, you do not want to facial steam too long or too often. Listen to YOUR skin and your body! A word of caution-- If you feel light-headed or woozy during steaming, stop at once.

A cleansing oil works its magic in two simple ways:
1. The concept of the oil cleansing method is rooted in one of the most basic principles of chemistry, “like dissolves like.”

Since water does not dissolve oil, if you wash with water, you need some sort of soap or detergent.
Think of soap as the middleman that helps bring oil and water together so that the dirt and grease on your skin can be easily rinsed away.
Oils are what chemists call lipophilic, meaning that they are naturally attracted to other oils, including the excess skin oil (sebum) that causes breakouts and the oil by-products found in most makeup.
Even if you use water-based makeup, over the course of a day, it will mix with your natural facial oil.
A facial cleansing oil will dissolve away the dirty oil and makeup from your face and replenish it with clean, nourishing oil that protects and moisturizes throughout the day.
2. Using a good, natural, organic oil on your skin actually helps slow down its own oil production to maintain balance.
There is a huge misconception that using any oil on your face only creates more oil, more breakouts, and leaves an oily residue. For years, commercial skin care companies have told us we need to remove the oil from our skin, especially our faces.
The problem is that drying out your facial skin actually stimulates increased oil production--which is the opposite of what you are trying to achieve.
Our facial cleansing oil is formulated with a blend of organic oils and herbal-infused oils that will balance sebum production and bind with the existing oil to unclog pores and cleanse impurities.
Using pure, organic oils, whether to cleanse or simply moisturize, will help balance sebum (natural skin oil) production, protect skin, and keep it soft, smooth, and hydrated.

Whether you call them facial oils or facial serums, well-formulated oils made from nourishing, unrefined botanical ingredients play an important role in healthy skin care.
Although oils don’t add water to the skin, they help soften, condition, and support the skin’s natural moisture barrier, which in turn helps skin retain hydration and stay comfortable.
As we age, our skin naturally becomes thinner, produces less oil, and loses some of its ability to hold onto moisture. This can make dryness more noticeable and can exaggerate the appearance of fine lines. Facial oils help reduce moisture loss and support skin suppleness.
Apply facial oil to clean, slightly damp skin. Oils work best when they are applied after cleansing, when there is still water on the skin’s surface. This helps the oil seal in moisture and support the skin barrier. Facial oils can be used alone or layered with another moisturizer, depending on your skin’s needs.
If you have oily or acne-prone skin, it may seem counterintuitive to use oil—but the right oils can actually help improve balance. Lightweight, non-comedogenic botanical oils can help soften skin and support the surface barrier, which may reduce the skin’s tendency to overproduce oil.
Using harsh products designed to “dry out” oily skin can strip the skin’s surface, triggering oil glands to produce even more oil. A thoughtfully chosen moisturizer or facial oil helps support balance rather than fight it.
For dry skin, an organic facial oil made with unrefined plant oils creates a breathable barrier that helps slow moisture evaporation. This helps skin feel softer, smoother, and more comfortable throughout the day.
Facial oils are often well-suited for sensitive skin because they are free from the surfactants and alcohols commonly found in many lotions. When skin is adequately supported and moisture loss is reduced, it often feels calmer and less reactive.
As we age, the skin’s natural oil production declines, making moisture loss more noticeable and fine lines more pronounced. A nourishing facial oil helps support the skin barrier, improve softness, and maintain a supple, comfortable feel—especially important for mature skin.
The most beneficial facial oils are made with unrefined, certified organic plant-based oils.
Unrefined oils are typically cold-pressed or expeller-pressed and minimally processed without harsh chemicals or excessive heat. This helps preserve their natural fatty acids and skin-supportive compounds.
USDA Certified Organic oils are produced without synthetic pesticides, preservatives, or additives.
Avoid petroleum-based products containing mineral oil or petrolatum, which coat the skin without providing the same skin-supportive benefits as plant-based oils.
