Product Overview

Simple, creamy moisture for dry, delicate skin

Virgin coconut oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax come together in a solid, slow‑melting bar to create a deeply moisturizing treatment for dry, rough, or irritated skin.

As the surface warms, it releases a creamy, coconut-fresh protective layer that helps seal in hydration while leaving skin feeling soft and protected.

Aroma

The mild natural aroma comes entirely from the ingredients themselves — a soft, warm scent of real coconut and cocoa butter with no added fragrance.

How To Use

Directions:

  • Remove the lotion bar from the tin
  • Warm the bar between your hands for a few seconds.
  • As your body heat softens the bar it releases skin-nourishing oils and allows you to rub it in more easily (while moisturizing your hands at the same time)
  • Massage it directly on dry skin patches
  • Simply rub on elbows, knees, heels, hands or anywhere else your skin feels dry
  • Massage the lotion into your skin until absorbed
  • Solid, portable and great for traveling (TSA friendly)
  • Hint: apply to hands before washing dishes

For those must wash their hands often during the day:

  • Apply immediately after washing while skin is still warm and damp
  • Rub the lotion bar between your hands
  • Massage the lotion into your palms and the rest of your hand until well absorbed
  • If hands are badly chapped, dry or cracked, apply frequently during the day
  • Toss it in your purse, desk, workshop drawer or lunchbox
  • Carry the convenient tin to use whenever your hands need some TLC

Tip: If your bar gets really hard during cold winter months, allow it warm a bit longer in warm hands

So smooth!

"My kids and I love this on our faces after a wash at night, but the application takes a while because you have to go back and rub the bar multiple times. Maybe I’ll try taking the whole bar out of the jar to hold in my hands, so it’s more efficient."

Dry skin savior

"This is a really great lotion bar and with all the ingredients being safe is a big plus. I find holding it a few seconds to let it melt releases the perfect amount for my hands, although I’ve used this on my arms and legs too. I like that it’s in a handy reusable and recyclable tin for travel."

"I use this on my hands when I volunteer at animal shelters. Since all the ingredients are edible there is no worry it will harm the animals, and the tin is convenient to have in a pocket. It is very effective and smells wonderful even without added scents. And of course I appreciate the environmentally friendly aspects of ingredients and package."

Banana for scale

"This is lotion bar feels more moisturizing if applied for overnight. Like when you apply heavily, put socks on your hands and go to sleep? It certainly has a greasy after feel no matter how much you rub your hands together, or how dry your hands are. Mine are always insanely dry. The kind of dry that leads to cracks and the occasional scab from trying to heal. Think farmers hands. This is during winter only. So I think this lotion bar will be best for winter. I absolutely adore the smell. It's like a bon bon. The coconut is so pleasantly sweet. I just want to sniff my hands. I also love the container having a twist on and off lid, so it doesn't pop off randomly in your purse and melt everywhere. I will reuse this container, but fill with the shower lotion bars as I feel like those absorbed into my skin better. Picture with banana for those who like me cannot determine size based off oz description."

"When I bought this a few years ago, it had a light coconut fragrance. The one I received this time just smells like wax. I smell waxy when I use it. What happened? Still feels great on skin, but I don't like this smell at all."

Lotion Bars❤️

"I love these so much! Just wish you had them in 2 oz instead of just 1 oz size but they are wonderful! Also would love if you developed a lavender mint one!"

Takes a bit to melt, mix with cocoa whipped butter

"LOVE THE SMELL (in small amounts). I used this and the cocoa whipped butter and felt like I smelled like a delicious candy bar. Takes a bit to melt. If I want to use this as the only product to lotion my entire body, it is way too much scent, which is a shame given how hydrating the lotion is and how lovely the scent is in small doses."

Coconut Lotion Bar

"I love all the lotion bars. Coconut smells good. It can be a little difficult to apply to the skin but it works great."

My purse pal

"Perfect to have in your purse or on your desk at work. Love that I can continue to use CVS&S products throughout the day"

What a wonderful product!

"This is an absolutely amazing product! It is easy to use and has a wonderful smell, it is lovely to know that there are only a few ingredients (that I can trust completely) and that I am limiting my plastic use - 10/10! My customer service has been truly amazing, Christina was kind, understanding and helpful to any questions I had. An amazing first impression to Chagrin Valley :) Thank you!"

Q&A

Is there a refill option that wouldn't have a tin? I'd love to find something I can keep using/replacing but would prefer not to end up with a collection of empty tins after.
Hi Molly, Thanks so much for your question! At this time we do not have a refill option for our lotion bars as we have not found a way to ship this product without damage occurring and do not want to compromise the integrity of the product! All of the tins are completely recyclable! Hope this helps! Thanks again for reaching out and please feel free to contact us anytime with additional questions or concerns! -Christina, Chagrin Valley
Can i use the lotion bars on my face?
Hi There, Thanks for your question! It really depends on the person and what works best for their skin. The lotion bars are a bit thicker due to the beeswax that is used in them so they may be a bit too heavy for sensitive facial skin. Most people tend to use one of our facial oils or our Whipped Squalane Face & Eye Mousse as a moisturizer as it is might lighter and absorbs easily into your facial skin. Whenever trying a new product, we always recommend doing a patch test on a small area of your skin to make sure that no irritation occurs. Hope this helps! Thanks again for reaching out and please contact us anytime with additional questions! -Christina

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Use A Natural Organic Body Cream?

Why use a natural organic body cream . . .

It is Natural

Natural Organic Whipped Cocoa Butter Body ButterWell, first of all, it's an all-natural product. Commercial lotions are NOT. Our Body Balms and Whipped Shea Butters only contain the ingredients that they need to moisturize your skin.

Creams and lotions formulated with synthetic ingredients often aggravate sensitive skin, exacerbate irritated skin conditions, and trigger allergic dermatitis.

The organic oils and butters we use do NOT contain petroleum based chemicals (Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Paraffin), chemical emulsifiers (DEA, MEA, TEA), chemical preservatives (Parabens, Urea), Propylene Glycol, artificial colors, or synthetic fragrances.

No Preservatives

Have you ever noticed that when you use your body lotion your skin never stays moist and you find yourself going back to the lotion bottle over and over?

Look at the ingredients. The main ingredient in lotion is water! Once water is added to make a lotion, preservatives are needed to prevent mold and bacteria growth.

No Alcohol or Petroleum Ingredients

Commercial lotions often contain isopropyl alcohol and/or mineral oil. Both of these actually are very drying to your skin. The alcohol gives a temporary sense of coolness due to evaporation.

Mineral oil is a clear, liquid oil with no scent and will not spoil. It is very inexpensive because it is the liquid by-product of the distillation of petroleum to produce gasoline and other petroleum-based products from crude oil. It is found in lotions, soaps, baby oil, cosmetics, and motor oil. Mineral oil

It is great for oiling your wooden cutting boards--but not your skin. Mineral oil does not penetrate to soften. It is difficult to absorb, coats your skin and clogs the pores. If you would like to have healthy skin, stay away from mineral oils, animal fat, petroleum, and synthetic oil based skincare.

It Has So Many Uses

We know that natural body butters make great moisturizing body creams. But here are some other ways we have used these balms and butters:

  • Get rid of those cracked heels
  • Gently massage into very dry areas on your face
  • Soothe and smooth skin after shaving
  • Add a dollop to your hot bath water instead of using synthetic bath oils
  • Massage some into your cuticles to soften them
  • Massage into your lips for a great all natural lip balm

HINT: If you enjoy the application "feeling" of a lotion better than a cream, try massaging our rich Whipped Butters into warm, wet skin after a bath or shower. Wait a few moments and gently pat dry. (Do not rub the skin dry!)

Since a lotion is just a lot of water mixed with oils, a rich natural butter on warm wet skin will have a similar feel.

Remember, the skin is the body's largest organ
and it needs to breathe as part of its
important role in maintaining overall health!

Are Chagrin Valley Ingredients & Products USDA Certified Organic?

Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve is a USDA Certified Organic Company

Certified Organic Skin Care

The most important consideration in any business is its customers. Today's world of misleading claims, false advertising, and simple deception, often leaves consumers trying to discover the truth about personal products and their ingredients.

  • We want our customers to know that we are committed to transparency in everything we do.
  • We want our customers to know that when we say "organic," we mean it.
  • We believe that in becoming a USDA Certified Organic company, our customers do not have to wonder if we really use certified organic ingredients or if our organic products are truly organic.
  • So we choose to be a certified organic company and abide by the strict standards required for organic certification.

Some of my favorite products are made with ingredients that just do not exist as certified organic. Why? At this time there are no standards created for ingredients specifically used in the personal care product industry. Organic certification of personal care products is based on the organic food standards set by the National Organic Program of the USDA.

But since we are a certified organic company, we are required to submit documentation that even our "non-organic ingredients" were produced without the use of toxic pesticides, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), sewage sludge, or irradiation.
