Product Overview

A comforting soak for dry, delicate skin

Few things feel as comforting as a warm herbal bath when skin feels dry, tight, or sensitive. Our Soothe My Skin Bath Tea combines soothing oats, gentle botanicals, and mineral-rich Himalayan pink salt to create a skin-soothing, calming bath that leaves skin feeling soft, relaxed, and refreshed.

The aroma is gentle and herbal. As the ingredients steep in warm water, they create a silky, milky bath with a soft, velvety feel — a simple way to unwind while giving your skin a little extra care.

Botanical Blend Highlights
  • Oatmeal — a classic bath ingredient that releases a creamy, soothing milk to help soften and comfort dry skin
  • Calendula — a classic calming herb used to support sensitive, easily irritated skin.
  • Marsh Mallow Root — rich in natural mucilage, which helps create a soft, soothing feel in the bathwater.
  • Chickweed — traditionally used to cool and comfort overworked skin
  • Elder Flowers —  long used in traditional herbal baths, they bring a light, floral softness to the blend.
  • Dandelion — a gentle, earthy herb long used in skin‑soothing preparations
  • Lemon Balm — adds a calming, uplifting herbal note
  • Himalayan Pink Salt — mineral‑rich crystals that help soften the water and the skin.
A Simple Ritual with Soothing Results

Enjoying some quiet time as you soothe your skin can have a powerful therapeutic effect.

Place the included reusable cotton muslin bag under running bath water and allow the herbs to steep as your tub fills. The warm water releases the natural aroma of the botanicals while the reusable bag keeps the bath tidy.

After your soak, the wet tea bag can be reused as a warm compress, tossed into the dryer to lightly scent your laundry, or dried and tucked into a drawer as a sachet.

Each package contains about 1½ cups of tea — enough for 3 to 6 soothing baths. Reusable cotton muslin bag included!

How To Use
How to Use Your Bath Tea

Fill the reusable muslin bag with ¼ to ½ cup of herbs and close the top securely. (Start with the smaller amount — the bag is intentionally roomy so water can flow freely around the botanicals.)

Place the herbal bag in the tub and allow warm running water to flow through it as the tub fills. You can hang the bag from the faucet or simply place it directly under the running water.

Once the tub is full, let the bag float in the bath so the herbs continue to steep. Gently squeeze the bag occasionally to release more of the botanical infusion. Relax and soak for 15–20 minutes.

After bathing, empty and rinse the muslin bag and allow it to dry.

For the full herbal bathing experience, avoid soap or bubble bath during the soak. If needed, shower beforehand and simply towel dry after your bath.

Other Ways to Enjoy Your Bath Tea

Bath teas are wonderfully versatile and can be enjoyed in several ways:

  • Use the herbal bag as a warm or cool compress on temples, neck, or pulse points
  • Use the herbal bag in the shower as an herbal washcloth
  • Add a small amount to a soothing foot soak
  • Place the used wet bag in the dryer with towels or linens to add a gentle botanical scent

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Use An Organic Bath Tea?
Whether you call them "bath teas," "bathing herbs," or "bathtub teas," soaking in a warm fragrant herbal bath provides a quiet sanctuary in which to retreat, reflect and refresh.

The healing properties trapped in the herbs and released by the water can help boost your mood, calm the mind, soothe sore muscles and joints, opens pores, soften skin, and promote more restful sleep.

As the beneficial properties of the herbs are released into the water, a pleasant aroma fills the air which provides soul therapy, skin therapy, and aromatherapy all in one.

So, draw a warm bath infused with fragrant or therapeutic herbs, light a few natural candles, play soothing music, and relax. It may just be the perfect medicine for whatever ails you.

A Few Important Notes:

Despite the many advantages, a warm bath may not be recommended for everyone.

  • Do not use very hot water
  • Do not soak for more than 15-20 minutes each time
  • If you have a heart condition or any medical condition, consult with your doctor before beginning a new bathing routine
  • If you are pregnant, please discuss baths with your doctor or midwife
  • Keep some cool drinking water nearby
  • Even a healthy person may begin to feel dizzy, or not well when taking a bath. If this happens, slowly get out, rest and drink some water as you may be dehydrated. If you do not feel better soon, please seek medical advice.

Are Chagrin Valley Ingredients & Products USDA Certified Organic?

Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve is a USDA Certified Organic Company

Certified Organic Skin Care

The most important consideration in any business is its customers. Today's world of misleading claims, false advertising, and simple deception, often leaves consumers trying to discover the truth about personal products and their ingredients.

  • We want our customers to know that we are committed to transparency in everything we do.
  • We want our customers to know that when we say "organic," we mean it.
  • We believe that in becoming a USDA Certified Organic company, our customers do not have to wonder if we really use certified organic ingredients or if our organic products are truly organic.
  • So we choose to be a certified organic company and abide by the strict standards required for organic certification.

Some of my favorite products are made with ingredients that just do not exist as certified organic. Why? At this time there are no standards created for ingredients specifically used in the personal care product industry. Organic certification of personal care products is based on the organic food standards set by the National Organic Program of the USDA.

But since we are a certified organic company, we are required to submit documentation that even our "non-organic ingredients" were produced without the use of toxic pesticides, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), sewage sludge, or irradiation.

Why We Use Stutzman Farms' Oat Products

Our Local Grain Partner
Stutzman Farms

Nestled in the heart of Ohio’s Amish country, Stutzman Farms is located in Millersburg, within the rolling farmland of Holmes County. The farm is run by Monroe Stutzman, who grows and mills organic grains using traditional, time-honored methods that prioritize quality, integrity, and care.

Stutzman Farms focuses on local, organic farming and operates an on-site stone mill. Their grains are never bleached and never treated with bromate or preservatives—just clean, thoughtfully grown food processed with respect for the ingredient and the people who use it.

Many of their customers follow gluten-free or alternative grain diets, and the farm is well known for its sprouted rolled oats and spelt flour. Monroe also uses a fascinating piece of equipment called a “puffer,” which gently puffs grains like rice and corn—products that are then lightly sweetened and sold throughout Ohio.

The Stutzman family’s commitment to craftsmanship extends beyond grains. Monroe’s brother, Arlie Stutzman, operates "Ice Shanty Cheese", producing cheese made from 100% grass-fed cow’s milk—another example of the family’s dedication to traditional methods and responsible agriculture.

Why This Matters to Us

At Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve, we believe small businesses are the backbone of our communities. Local farmers and makers bring deep expertise to their craft, take pride in their work, and understand the value of doing things right—even when it takes more time and effort.

By sourcing our organic oats from Stutzman Farms, we support a farming family that shares our values: transparency, sustainability, and respect for both people and the land. It’s one more way we stay connected to our ingredients—and to the community that helps make our products possible.
