Loofah Pumice Foot Scrub
A cool, stimulating scrubby natural foot soap with nourishing organic butters and oils, shredded loofah, finely ground pumice, peppermint leaves, menthol and an invigorating essential oil blend leave feet soft, smooth, pampered and refreshed. This scrubby soap bar will help exfoliate rough, tough skin and scrub away the build up of dead skin and calluses on the heels and feet.
The antifungal and antibacterial properties of Tea Tree Oil help to keep your feet healthy.
- Removes dead skin cells as it cleans
- Moisturizing -- will not dry out feet like a pumice stone
- Great for athletes
- Use with our Minty Feet Balm — a great combination to treat your feet!
Our Loofah Pumice soap can also be used for thick dry scaly patches on elbows and knees. It will also help remove the most stubborn grime on extra dirty hands without needing harsh chemicals--just be careful, this soap is VERY scratchy.
I began making soap in 2001 with ingredients that I believed in, for the people that I loved. After all these years, that goal has never changed.
How to Use
- Wet the Loofah Pumice Bar in the bath or shower.
- Massage the bar against your wet feet in circular motions.
- As you work up a lather the pumice powder and ground loofah will scrub away the build up of dead skin on the feet.
- Rinse, pat dry and moisturize for soft, refreshed feet.
Aren't all handmade soaps the same? . . .
The answer is NO!
Saying a soap is "handmade" says nothing about quality of the ingredients or the knowledge and skill of the soapmaker!
Chagrin Valley is not just another soap and skin care company. We are committed to healthy skin, healthy people and a healthy planet.
We are a USDA Certified Organic Company specializing in luxurious, organic, handmade soaps rich in natural glycerin for healthier skin.
It's all about the ingredients! Inspired by our love of nature, we use organic herbs, seeds, flowers, vegetables, fragrant spices, fruits, pure essential oils and purifying clays for their exceptional skin care benefits and to provide natural color, aromatherapy, texture, or gentle exfoliation. Nothing artificial, nothing synthetic, no GMO’s, just natural wholesome ingredients.
Chagrin Valley's Natural Soap & Shampoo Bars Are...

- magnificent long-lasting lather
- cured for 8 to 10 weeks
Our soap making process uses only natural and organic ingredients. Why add artificial ingredients to a handmade product?
The Short Answer
NO! Adding antibacterial chemicals to soap does not keep your family safe from germs.
I understand why folks (especially those with children) are choosing products labeled “Antibacterial,” hoping to keep their family safe in the war against germs.
"Consumers may think antibacterial washes are more effective at preventing the spread of germs, but we have no scientific evidence that they are any better than plain soap and water," said Janet Woodcock, M.D., director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). “In fact, some data suggests that antibacterial ingredients may do more harm than good over the long-term.”
Simply washing your hands with old-fashioned natural soap and water rids your skin of most fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Soap does not kill germs, it surrounds them and carries them away.

The Short Answer
Yes And No!
Although handmade soaps usually get better with age, we recommend using our soaps within 12 months of purchase. Our scented soaps should be used within 3 months after removing them from the box.
Although the soaps will not be "spoiled" after that time, you may notice some changes as natural soap ages.
- some natural colors may fade over time
- the scents from pure natural essential oil scents will fade over time
The changes in color and scent happen even more quickly in our sample size bars.
These bars have a much greater surface area to volume ratio which allows essential oils to evaporate from the surface more quickly. However, the scent may still be there when you lather up.
I have found some ancient bars hiding in my closet that years old. The scents were gone, but the lather was incredible!

For a more detailed discussion please read our blog, "The Shelf Life, Color & Scent of an All Natural Soap."
How You Can Help Prolong Shelf-Life
- Natural soaps need to breathe. Exposure to air promotes hardening of your soap and contributes to longer-lasting quality. Soap should be left unwrapped in their boxes or wrapped with breathable materials. Tight wrappers cause humid conditions by preventing evaporation of moisture.
- Our soaps are packaged in breathable, recyclable, sustainable packaging! Keep your natural handmade soaps in a dry, cool place away from sunlight, excessive heat and humidity.
- Our scented soaps, like Lavender Rosemary, can be placed in a muslin bag or wrapped in a piece of cloth and put in your linen closet or dresser drawer to give a delightful fragrance to your linens and clothes while waiting to be used.
An Unofficial Label
Although not official labels, we use the label on the left on our website and the label on the right on our packaging. We use them for several products, like the Dead Sea Black Clay, Bamboo Charcoal, and Loofah Pumice Foot Soaps and our Mud & Clay and Rosemary Mint Charcoal Shampoo Bars. We also use these labels on our Clay Facial Masks and our Whipped Squalane and Butter Me Up Body Balm.
Although these products are made with organic ingredients, they do not fit the criteria for the USDA Certified Organic Label.
The USDA Organic standard states that a product must be made of 95-100% organic ingredients in order to bear the USDA Certified Organic seal.
The remaining 5% can only be nonagricultural ingredients that are on the NOP (National Organic Products) list. Since this list was devised solely for the food industry, there are non-agricultural ingredients like Dead Sea Mud, Pumice and numerous Clays, etc. that do not appear on this list.
Ingredients like "Olive Squalane," "Bamboo Charcoal," "Illipe and Kokum Butters" are considered "agricultural" ingredients. Since they are not available certified organic we cannot use any USDA symbols on the products.
Even though we can't label these products organic, if you read the ingredient list you will see that we still use USDA Certified Organic ingredients whenever possible.

Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve is certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny.
The Leaping Bunny Program was developed in 1996, by The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC), to identify and support companies that are doing their part to help eliminate the unnecessary use and mistreatment of animals to test cosmetic products and ingredients. The CCIC is made up of eight animal protection groups including the Humane Society of the U.S., as well as groups from Canada and Europe.
At Chagrin Valley we obviously do not test our finished products on animals (other than human volunteers), but what about the raw materials, the ingredients we use? Many products display labels claiming that their finished product is ‘not tested on animals’ but this does not guarantee that the product ingredients are actually free from animal testing.
The CCIC Standard is a pledge that a company makes to remove animal testing from all stages of product development. Our pledge to buy ingredients that are cruelty-free is integrated into the purchase order contract for all of our suppliers.
Personal care products displaying the “real” Leaping Bunny logo are certified ‘cruelty-free' using the internationally recognized Humane Cosmetics Standards. These rigorous standards require that no animal testing is performed or authorized for finished products or ingredients in any stage of product development by the company, its laboratories or its suppliers after a fixed cut-off date. All Leaping Bunny companies are subject to independent audits and pledge commitments are renewed on an annual basis.
At Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve . . .
- we do NOT test our products on animals
- we do NOT use ingredients tested on animals
- we do NOT sell into markets that require animal testing
The Leaping Bunny Program provides
the best assurance to consumers
that they are making compassionate shopping choices
by purchasing Cruelty-Free skin care!
What Are Essential Oils?
Have you ever enjoyed the scent of a fragrant flower or herb? The fragrance comes from potent, aromatic compounds called essential oils.
These natural compounds are found in the flowers, stems, seeds, bark, roots, fruits and other parts of plants.
Essential oils not only give plants their unique scents, they also help lure plant pollinators and protect plants from insects and other predators.
The chemical composition of essential oils can provide valuable psychological and physical aromatherapeutic benefits.
It is important to note that to be a true essential oil, the oil must be isolated from the plant material by physical means only. Essential oils are NEVER extracted using solvents.
Although synthetic fragrances or "nature identical" oils are available at a much lower cost, only natural plant essential oils to will provide the botanical benefits.
If you are pregnant or under a doctor's care for any medical condition, please consult your healthcare provider before using essential oils.

I bought the pumice foot soap for my husband's hands. He uses Lava for his hard working hands and I wanted him to try a natural soap. He was reluctant to switch from his heavy-duty hand cleaner but is now a convert. Says his hands get just as clean but do not feel all dried out. You need to advertise this as a hand soap. Maria, Oklahoma
I had ordered the trial size Salts & Herbs foot soak & the Loofah Pumice soap for my mom since her feet are dry, rough, cracked, & flaky. I couldn't help myself since my feet are a little flaky & somewhat rough, so I cut a sliver off the soap & used it while I soaked my feet. My feet smell minty, & are smooth & incredibly soft after I finished it off with your cocoa butter!! Thanks Chagrin Valley!! Tamara, Pennsylvania
WOW! What an incredible product. I must admit I am not a pedicure person because feet are feet. But I hate my heels and I love to wear sandals. So I bought the pumice soap and the foot salve and I have to say that now I love my feet and when I cross my legs and you see my heals they just look fabulous. Besides the fact that it works, I think what I like best is that it is so easy to have nice heels. So I am sold! Thank you. Lisa, California
